Find My iPhone crowd catches Coachella festival 'thief'

More Than One Hundred iPhones have been present in a single backpack after people on the Coachella track Competition in California tracked their missing handsets, local police have said.

Revellers had used the To Find My iPhone app, which presentations the positioning of a linked Cellphone on laptops or other devices, Indio Police stated.

And a suspect had then been “followed” throughout the web site and detained.

A Few Telephones had been back immediately, the police delivered.

And the remainder had been passed to misplaced property on the Festival web page.

Police had already dedicated further instruments to the Pageant after “chatter on social media” about lacking iPhones, Sgt Dan Marshall told tech news web site Gizmodo.

But “in this case, the lovers got here thru”.

Competition-goers were advised to:

  • maintain valuables in front rather than back pockets
  • make certain all valuables should not stored collectively
  • elevate a dummy wallet to idiot thieves
