Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the Nobel laureate who dedicated her life to serving to the poorest of the terrible, will likely be made a saint of the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican stated on Friday.

Pope Francis has cleared the way for her sainthood via approving a decree recognizing a miracle attributed to her intercession with God.

Mom Teresa, who died in 1997 on the age of 87, was once beatified in 2003 by way of the late Pope John Paul. Beatification, which requires one miracle, is the remaining step ahead of sainthood.
