Russian Overseas Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson spoke by way of phone on Saturday concerning the scenario in Syria after the U.S. strikes on a Syrian air base, the Russian ministry mentioned in a statement.

Lavrov mentioned that “an assault on a country whose government fights terrorism handiest performs into the fingers of extremists, creates extra threats to regional and global safety,” the Russian ministry stated.

He additionally informed Tillerson that assertions that the Syrian militia used chemical weapon in Idlib province on April Four do not correspond to reality, the ministry introduced.
