A&E doctor to contest Khan's seat

An A&E physician has been chosen by way of Labour to battle the Tooting by way of-election after new London mayor Sadiq Khan stepped down as an MP.

Rosena Allin-Khan, who works at St George’s Clinic, used to be chosen on the birthday party’s candidate on Saturday.

The by-election will likely be held on Sixteen June.

Mr Khan triggered the election prior this week when he formally stepped down as MP, after Eleven years, to focus on his duties as London mayor.

‘An honour’

Writing on her site, Ms Allin-Khan describes herself as a “passionate native, a community activist and well being recommend”.

She provides: “As someone who was born and bred in Tooting, it will be an honour to be your next MP and serve the community I call home.

The Mother-of-two can also be a Wandsworth Labour councillor.

Mr Khan used to be first elected to characterize Tooting for Labour within the 2005 basic election.

Winning 1,310,143 votes within the London mayoral election, he received the biggest personal mandate of any politician in UK history.
