Bennett to stand down as Green leader

Natalie Bennett has announced she’s going to stand down as leader of the fairway Party in England and Wales this August, after four years on the helm of the Celebration.

Ms Bennett stated she would not stand for re-election when her second two-yr time period in place of work expires this summer season.

The Australian former journalist mentioned she supposed to stay “absolutely engaged” within the Inexperienced Birthday Party after stepping down.

An ex-journalist who labored for the Telegraph, the Independent, the Occasions and the Guardian, she become Birthday Celebration leader in September 2012.

She succeeded Caroline Lucas, the green Birthday Party’s MP for Brighton Pavilion.

Nominations for Ms Bennett’s successor will open on June 1 and close on June 30.

A one-month balloting duration will commence on 24 July with the end result to be announced on the Celebration’s autumn convention, in September.
